Founded in 2019 in Rennes by Benoît Tardif and Benjamin Hooge, LATER… is a French ready-to-wear brand committed to an eco-responsible approach.
The two founders, longtime friends, combined their respective skills in styling and management to create a brand that blends aesthetics and durability.
LATER...'s concept is based on the exclusive use of recycled materials.
Each year, approximately 100,000 tons of clothing are thrown away in France. LATER… collects these used textiles to transform them into new, quality pieces. The manufacturing process includes defiberizing clothes at Filature du Parc in Brassac (Tarn), weaving in Castres, and manufacturing in Portugal. This short supply chain minimizes environmental impact while ensuring ethical and local production.

There are clothes you throw on without thinking. And then there are others, like this LATER… jacket, that take up a little more space. Not because they're loud. But because they're just right. Here, we're looking at a straight cut, just loose enough, that floats a little in the wind without drowning you in it. A real collar, wide and structured, six pockets (including two enormous flap pockets in front): the kind of practical jacket for carrying everything, without needing a bag.
It's the mid-season jacket we've been waiting for, neither too cliché workwear nor too tame. The kind of piece that goes with you on the train, on your bike, or sitting on a terrace with a lukewarm coffee.
The desire to do things well, right down to the material
The fabric? 100% recycled. Not just to tick a greenwashing box. Here, it's a genuine desire to produce from what already exists, to give new form to what was languishing at the bottom of textile bins.
The result: a brushed cotton/polyester twill, with a dry, dense feel, that will last without turning stiff.
And as always with LATER…, everything is done in a short circuit:
• the yarn comes from Tarn,
• weaving is done in Castres,
• manufacturing in Portugal.
And as a bonus: a deposit system
The item is returnable. Want to get rid of it in 2, 3, or 10 years? Send it back, LATER… will buy it back at 15% of the purchase price, to recycle or repair it.
It's intelligent, circular, and a refreshing change from half-discounted fast fashion.
